Publish or republish with us

Summertime Publishing, established in 1997, specialises in books by and for people who live or have lived overseas. Our strength lies in our expat niche and network.

We're particularly interested in books about third culture kids and the issues affecting global families.

Our books are available print on demand and digitally via on-line retailers and by direct discounted sales to authors and clients. If our authors want to sell to book stores they can maximise their profit by dealing with the book stores directly.

Our authors pay the upfront costs and receive a generous royalty of up 60% in exchange.

We work with a team of talented freelance editors, designers and publicists to ensure you find the perfect match.
Do you have an existing book you'd like to republish?
Maybe it needs a revision or could do with a makeover with a brand new design. Perhaps it's not written in English and you'd like it translated.  We can help.

Typically our authors are...

  • Expats themselves or have overseas experience
  • Already run a business or brand and recognise that writing a book will increase their reputation and provide the ‘icing on the cake’ through on-line and back of room sales
  • Connected with an existing following/fanbase/subscriber base or established blog. Authors will already have (or be willing to launch) a website and will understand the value of social media as a PR tool
  • Happy to get out there and network, to promote their book, do talks, debates or workshops and sell their book at the back of the room
  • Able and willing to write articles relating to their book.
  • Resourceful and prepared to 'front' their book and promote it with interviews, debates and appearances both off and online
  • Able to write well, in English or be prepared to pay for professional editing and proofreading
  • Are living or have lived in the community related to their target market (so in Spain if the book is about Spain, working in international schools if their book is for international kids).
