e-Learning from Jo Parfitt
This year, just in time for Christmas, Jo Parfitt, author of over 30 books, publisher of over 100 and writers' mentor to countless now-published writers, has produced updated editions of her three popular, practical and effective writing programs.

  • How to Write Your Life Stories
  • Definite Articles
  • Release the Book Within

All programs can be purchased as a print book from Amazon or as a PDF.

Each program is divided into eight inspiring, insightful and useful lessons, which finish with a task for you to complete and send to Jo herself for critique. Taken in order, these tasks will teach you all you need to move your writing forwards.

Yes, you can work on these lessons alone at home. Of course you can. But Jo is happy to offer one-to-one feedback for an additional fee of £250 per course. She is an honest critic, who finds the potential in her students' writing, makes suggestions for improvements, further reading and connections.

Being accountable to her as your mentor and tutor will keep you motivated. Knowing that you must complete the course within a year will keep you on track.

Write your life stories

Learn how to add SPICE to your life stories

£47

Write Your Life Stories
Want to write a memoir, a better journal or a blog? Then you need to learn how to write stories from your life in such a way that they are compelling for others to read. Your stories should leap off the page. Using Jo's tried and tested formula for writing stories that leap off the page, called SPICE, you will learn how to write humour, about people, places and emotions.

This course comes with a 60-minute video, eight podcasts and over 100 ideas to get your writing going.

Why Jo? Because Jo spent two years researching what makes a personal story work. Because she has been writing a personal diary for decades and a blog for several years. Jo has also written personal columns for several magazines including Resident Abroad and Expatriate Lifestyle and knows what makes a good story.

definite ARTICLES

How to write and sell winning articles based on your overseas experience.

£37

Definite Articles
Want to write and sell articles based on what you know, where you've been, the people you have met and what you have learned along the way? Then this course is for you. It will teach you how to write articles the easy way, using a formula and perfectly matching your editor's needs. Crammed with information and ideas this course will make you realise how many saleable ideas you have inside you already.

Why Jo? Because she has written and had published (and been paid for) thousands of articles over the last 30 years all over the world and has also worked as an editor of three different magazines.

This course comes with bonus lessons that will teach you how to blog and use Twitter and write book reviews.

RELEASE THE BOOK WITHIN

Get that non-fiction book planned, written, edited and on the bookshelves in eight easy lessons.

£37

Release the Book Within
Not for novelists, this course shows you how to plan, write, edit and publish a non-fiction book based on what you know, your expertise. Follow the steps to get your idea planned, mind-mapped and then turned into a Table of Contents you can follow as you write your manuscript. If you opt for personal feedback you can have your first chapter assessed and edited too.

Why Jo? Because she has had her non-fiction books published by Octopus, McGraw-Hill, Macmillan, Zodiac, Pitman and Paradigm. Because she has mentored hundreds of non-fiction authors to write their books and has published 100 of them. Jo's books include French Tarts, A Career in Your Suitcase, Find Your Passion and many more.

This course, when taken with personal feedback, will take you through the equivalent of six hours of personal mentoring with Jo while you plan and start to write your book.

What's next?

Buy the book via the links on our website. Inside each book you will find instructions for getting personal feedback, or you can purchase it direct from the website.
