A Me-Treat is a treat designed just for you... indulge your senses, inspire your soul, find your voice and stretch your writing muscles as you get under the skin of the place you are in and explore your creative potential. Me-Treats are designed and led by author, journalist, poet and mentor, Jo Parfitt.
Days begin and end with words and sharing in a safe space. Mornings are for inspired learning. Afternoons are for following your flow and me-time. At six o'clock it's time for the highlight of a Me-Treat – reading, sharing and connecting over a drink or two as we give feedback on the day's creations. Then it's time for dinner, with wine and meaningful conversation. Fees always include tuition, meals and excursions. Most include accommodation too.
You need to come on a Me-Treat if...
You love words and would like to spend time with others who care about nature, good conversation, people and places. Write not to be understood but to understand who you are, what matters and what you should be writing.

The Watermill at Posara
15-22 June 2019 – £1,800 (approx.)
Learn to write your life stories cocooned here, in unspoilt Tuscany at a rural escape beside the stream. Please book via watermill.net.
The weekly emails exchanged by these two authors touch on so many messages that are relevant to living an international life: deciding when to go home, maintaining your identity despite the changing scenery, grappling with doubts about whether or not you've made the best decision, worrying about who you'll be if you leave your international life behind, caring for family members back at home, navigating a life in limbo...I could go on and on. As a mental health professional, I was especially grateful for the sections where the authors were vulnerable and courageous in sharing their own traumatic experiences and those of their sons, as well as the steps they had taken to cope with these challenges and care for their own mental and emotional health.
